Kristian DeLayne and JMeel – “Run It Back”
Jewell Dziendziel – Vegetarian Detroit podcast (Season 2)
Emma Guzman – “Strawberries”
This was recorded while Emma Guzeman was working with the streaming service TIDAL as a part of their program, TIDAL Unplugged Detroit.
Charlie May – “Rinse and Repeat”
“If you find your life's playing out like an old country song, you may as well write it down! I wrote this song about the monotony of corporate life and wanting to escape the rat race.”
Rick Enrico Morrone – “Reel 2021”
Everything in this reel Morrone either produced (independently or at an ad agency level), acted in, shot, edited, directed, animated or played music on.
Weam Namou – The Great American Family
The Great American Family is a feature documentary which Weam Namou produced, wrote, and directed. It won two international awards: IndieFEST (women filmmaker category) and ImpactDOCS (feature documentary category). The documentary is based on a 2017 Eric Hoffer Award-Winning book with the same title, which was also written by Weam.
The story is about Dawn Hanna, who in 2009, was sentenced to six years in federal prison, accused of conspiring to broker telecom equipment to Iraq during the sanctions. After her sentencing, two men risked their lives to tell the truth. Unbeknownst to Dawn and the jury which tried her, her co-conspirator was actually a CIA operative. The project was sponsored by the U.S. to listen in on Saddam and his men. The Court said this new evidence wouldn’t have made a difference in the jury’s verdict.
Anthony Retka – “Lonely”
This is the single from Retka's 2020 EP, Never Has, Always Will. In this video, he is performing the tune live in his Detroit apartment as a part of my Monday night series, Songs from Seminole Street.
Sax Appeal + The Crü – “The Song That's Called…”
