Meet Kareem Kanouh, Detroit's Big Shot 2023!
In the fall of 2023, dozens of local artists and entertainers competed in Detroit's Big Shot talent competition. After seven rounds, musician Kareem Kanouh emerged as the winner.
Kareem Kanouh is a self-taught musician, mastering both flamenco guitar and classical piano. He also plays the Tabla, Handpan, and Cajon, demonstrating his wide-ranging musical skills. Recently, Kareem expanded his artistic pursuits into acting, participating in five Hollywood projects.
In addition to his artistic endeavors, Kareem has shown prowess in sports, securing five medals in ping-pong. Originally from Syria, he moved to the United States in 2014 and became an American citizen in 2018. Kareem holds an engineering degree from the University of Detroit Mercy. Before starting his own music business, Kareem worked for a global engineering company. His diverse talents and experiences earned him the title of Detroit's Big Shot 2023.
Kareem blew away the panel of expert judges, including Ann Delisi of 101.9 WDET-FM, Mike Green of One Night Stan's, Duante Beddingfield of The Detroit Free Press, Rochelle Riley from the City of Detroit, Jaime Wilkins from Arts, Beats & Eats, and Suai Kee from gener8tor Music.

2021 Champion: Beatboxer Stevie Soul
2021's Big Shot Stevie Soul is a Detroit-based artist, beatboxer, and multimedia producer. He is known for his ability to perform the sounds of numerous musical instruments in perfect harmony with this mouth. He’s achieved national acclaim for his appearance in H&R Block’s “Never Settle Campaign.” Soul has performed with George Watsky, Whitney Cummings, Cody Simpson, Jeff Bass & Kevin O'leary from Shark Tank, and other musicians.
